Korean War
Sergeant Symons was a member of the 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He spent three years in Japan with the First Cavalry Division before re-enlisting in November, 1949. He was wounded July 28, 1950, but returned to duty with his unit in time for the Inchon landing. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy in North Korea on December 14, 1950, and died while a prisoner on October 16, 1951.
