Lt. Bulpitt served with the 311th Troop Carrier Squadron as a glider pilot. He was killed during the conduct of Operation VARSITY while flying a WACO combat glider, CG-4A, #43-27424. Lt. Bulpitt is buried at Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands, Plot D Row 1 Grave 20. He was awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.
