UI teams up with State of Illinois to become premier ‘Smart State’

The State of Illinois and University of Illinois system forged a partnership that labels Illinois as the nation’s leading ‘Smart State.’ To earn the title of ‘Smart State,’ these two entities must commit to adapting technology to enhance Illinoisan’s quality of life and the state’s economy, all in an effort to retain and draw residents. Those spearheading the initiative see an opportunity to create congruity between public establishments so day-to-day conveniences may be more accessible to citizens.
